Adrian removes the shuttering from the coping stone block he cast yesterday and then ‘distressed’ the top and face surfaces. He then re-assembled the mould in preparation for casting another block. Before he could begin mixing concrete he had to pay a visit to the local builders’ merchant to collect more bags of cement. On returning to Sea Lock he soon filled the mould with mortar and then covered over the wet block to protect it from possible frost damage over night. He estimates that another 12 blocks are required to complete the front section of the wharf wall.
